Kevin Orihuela Ruano
Hi my name is Kevin Orihuela Ruano
and I am 26, I am from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands.
I still live here, for me it is one of the best places in the world for bodyboarding, so I'm so lucky to live here.
I started bodyboarding when I was 13 years old,
my family were surfing, so I was influenced from my father and my uncles since I was a child.
My childhood hero was Ryan Hardy for sure, his style and riding made an impact on me and really influenced me from the start.
My local break is here in Las Palmas, close to my house, it is called “El Confital”.
My favourite break in my country for sure is Frontón.
My favourite break is also my local, “El Confital” for sure.
My first board was a Wave Rebel Guilherme Tâmega, white, purple with black line.
I have some friends in my crew, who helped me to develop as a bodyboarder and as a person, Carlos Sanz, Cristian Martinez, Jonay Santana, Isaac Brito, Lionel Medina, María Ley, Aitor Martín…
I love to compete, i'm still competing and I try to do better in every contest.
My current rankings are first on the ETB (European Tour of Bodyboarding) and 35th on the APB rankings.
I work at a surf school and yes, my job is teaching people to surf.
I want to thank to my sponsors who make this possible, 5c Bodyboards, Brisa Center, Backdoor Bodyboard Shop, Naviera Armas, Mery Sports Coach, One Zero One wetsuits and Evo Fins.
I ride my promodel, Kevin Orihuela from 5c Bodyboards. I wear One Zero One wetsuits and I use Evo fins, my leash is 5c also.
I only want a sponsor who can give me more facilities to compete in more world tours events per year.
I love clothing by “Ozne”.
Pre suf I would listen to some rock like Sabotage or Beastie Boys
My favourite memories for sure are the missions, going to the beach with some good friends, food and surf all day long 😊 .
Im a pro rider, I live and develop my life for bodyboarding.
My day to day is always looking for some surfing sessions, also training physicaly and mentaly.
I travel pretty much to compete and I have some good friends in other countries when I do, so sometimes I stay at friend’s home or if not, I always look for some relaxing place.
I feel very passionate about bodyboarding and I try to keep trying to pushing my limits every day and trying to surf better every day.
Thanks to Lidlife Bodyboarding for giving me an opportunity to share my history. Thanks to all the people who contribute to make my dream possible every day. T H A N K S !!!
