Aridane González

Our next rider is an absolute wizard on the knee, tearing up waves of consequence with a complete disregard for fear.

He hails from the Canary Islands, a unique part of Spain, geographically part of Africa but politically part of Europe.

Each of the Canary Islands are different from each other, some with radically different landscapes and geographies, plus despite the name, the islands are not named after the canary bird, the name actually comes from the latin word for a dog, "Canaria".

The islands are volcanic in origin although there are no volcanoes currently erupting with the last occurrence being in 1824.

"My name is Aridane González, I was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

I started to catch waves from a very young age, I think I was only 10 years old with my family, my uncles and my cousins.

When I was 15 years old because of family things I was forced to go and live on the island of Fuerteventura and from then until today I still live there and I love it because it is such a beautiful island.

I began to practice Dropknee when acquaintances from my home island were motivated to try DK and then in turn they were motivating those who were starting out at the time, like me , I am talking about a partner of the Dropkne Canarias Crew family, they know who they are.

How life had taken many turns before they motivated me to try DK and now me and some colleagues from Dropknee Canarias Crew motivate others.

We do it through our page that we created on Instagram called @dk_canarias_news.

We created this page to help and motivate drop knee riding and to help to continue to grow the youngest riders t in the Canary Islands 🇮🇨.

Regarding competing, I only competed in some Canarian circuits in the DK events and in a couple of the Spanish championship events, some of my titles include, runner-up in the Spanish championship 2019 and runner-up of the Canary Islands 2019. These were my two best results when competing.

I don't like to compete a lot because I don't enjoy being nervous, I prefer events with friends or free surfing.

Thanks to all the brands that support me so I can lead my lifestyle and keep the Dk alive. Those like Thrash International, Kanarenpro, Salada.

I am very lucky to have the family that I have, they are my day to day support and because of them I am the person I am today.

I want to thank you for wanting to do this interview with me.

Dk4ever 🤙 Thank you, see you on the tube.
